Did You Know You Can No Longer Compose or Edit Stories in the Medium App?

Don’t get me wrong. I love Medium and all it represents. I have been writing and interacting with writers Since December of 2020, a little over a year. It turns out Medium was just the platform I was looking for. I love to write and share my experiences involving gardening, birdwatching, outdoor adventure, and retirement advice. While I mainly write on a laptop using the Medium website, the App is also a useful tool especially for editing. What have they done?

When I opened the Medium App tonight (iOS), it said an update had been installed. At first I was excited as updates usually mean improved features and performance. However, along with some improvements listed, it stated that the App no longer supports writing new stories or editing of any kind, drafts or published stories. Say what??

Why would Medium do this? Although I normally write on my laptop, I regularly edit stories so I can add photos from my phone with ease, instead of transferring them to my laptop first. I have an iPhone and my laptop is Windows based, so Airdrop won’t work (at least that I’m aware of).

I have also written articles on my phone although it can be a challenge. I just don’t understand why Medium would
